The Purpose of the Role:


Reporting to the RSM, this role will involve:


Assisting the Sales Management team in the maximisation of sales in eir Business Markets through coaching the Business Development Managers (BDM’s) and implementing an effective sales plan to exceed personal and team targets.



  • To act in a supporting role to both the Regional Managers and the BDM’s
  • To provide coaching and development for the Business Development Managers
  • To ensure all team and individual Targets/KPI’s are exceeded
  • To carry out field accompaniments with BDM’s
  • To provide cover for Regional Sales Manager absence
  • To implement coaching and development structures for the BDM’s with assistance from the Learning & Development Manager
  • To assist in the improvement of BDM quality and efficiency in the end to end sales process




  • Achieve agreed objectives across all Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist in the coaching and development of the team
  • Ensure product trends are monitored and feedback is supplied to relevant areas
  • Monitor field standards- Implement sales best practice, resolve customer issues and escalate appropriately
  • Assist in driving a cohesive and motivated team with the Regional Sales Manager
  • Feedback for BDM Personal Development Plans with RSM and L&D Manager
  • Ensure regular accompaniments are carried out with all assigned BDM’s
  • Recognise and highlight excellent team/individual performance
  • Ensure management are informed and updated regarding all key activities
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Collate and present daily, weekly and monthly reports on sales activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance is being adhered to across the field structure
  • Co-ordinate and carry out regular workshops and training
  • Take a proactive lead role in delivering defined objectives in the following areas; training, development, systems, procedures, safety, products, teamwork, motivation, recruitment, development and coaching of Business Development Managers






  • Knowledge of the workings of a high performing Field Sales Team.
